I could say the making of silver jewelry began a year ago, which is when I bought my first sterling silver wire and shaped my first pair of silver earrings (with great excitement and a fear that the I might do something to ruin the beauty of it), but this has been a journey that I have picked up and put down throughout my life. Beginning with the leafless trees I made from copper wire, then making wire people, then the making of those quirky and joyful do-dads that are hung from whatever-you-want-to-hang them, I have made my way here. I cannot express the joy this brings me, the true bliss of creating a piece of jewelry that another person loves as much as I do. When bending wire-and all that entails-I find myself in a place of quiet (and sometimes not so quiet :) contentment. I believe that all of us are meant to work with our hands, as there is nothing so satisfying as creating something that brings others and ourselves joy when we gaze upon it.
This journey is not over, but I have come to a place where I want to share the results of this "leg" of my journey.
I have had so much support in my efforts to bring my jewelry up to a higher standard (that pleases my sense of quality and ability) and my appreciation of that support cannot be forgotten or expressed enough.
There are the ladies I work with: they were the first to purchase the very first pieces I made from simple craft wire. They gave me ideas and suggestions. They encouraged me to forge ahead and try more, and through their purchases of my work, helped me build my (still ever-growing) collection of all that is required for the making of my jewelry. And the moment I heard one turn to the other and say "Oh, is that an Abb Original you're wearing?" I knew what the name of my business would be :)
There is the sweet man who donated the money I needed for my first set of truly fine Lindstrom pliers. He does not know how pivotal that moment was for me in my endeavor, as there is NOTHING that can take the place of a really good tool. He will always hold a special place in my heart.
My family: My sister, who has always supported me and loved me through no-matter-what and continues to be a great inspiration for me in my endeavor to be a kind and caring human being. My brother-in-law, who is truly and unequivocally the very best in the whole world. I love you for your kindnesses and your ability to be exactly who you are. My son, who brings more joy to my life than there are words for, who has grounded me and tolerated well the time I spend creating. He is my best cheerleader!
My too-many-to-name-"bestest"-people-in-the-world-friends: Together we have been through dark and light, fear and bravery, anger and joy, thick and thin. Always supportive and always in my corner.
Ines Hardtke. I met this beautiful woman a year ago after stumbling onto her site. The minute I saw the work she does with silver I was inspired to attain the level of quality found in her jewelry. Her generosity with all she knows and all she believes, both about making jewelry and living life, has enriched MY life so very much and I must credit her with helping me find the courage to display my work for anyone who wants to see it. I am privileged to be blessed with her friendship.
I live in the beautiful foothills of North Georgia with my son.
So, once again, Welcome to My Bliss - I hope you enjoy what I have to offer and hope you return as often as the spirit moves you.

Please feel free to contact me with any thoughts or questions.
Take good Care~Abbi
